YESSENNIA COSSIO- UNITED STATES- Florida - World Freerunning Parkour Federation

My name his Yessenia Cossio and I was born and raised in Miami, FL and moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2019, and currently travel all over the states as an actress, professional athlete, and stunt person. Growing up I wanted to pursue the world of art and movement and pursued acting, ballet, competitive salsa dancing and competitive bodybuilding. In 2014, I decided I wanted a bigger challenge as an athlete and artist. One day while surfing the web I found an amazing video with very talented athletes practicing the sport of “Parkour” and it was love at first sight! Endless possibilities came to mind with a new challenge on the rise.

After a couple of years of hard work and training I achieved my first goal and in 2017 I competed at the WFPF Mandalay Bay “Jump Off” as one of their female athletes. The same year I also had the opportunity to take the three day course to get certified as a WFPF Level 1-2 parkour coach. Parkour has opened many doors for me as an athlete and stunt actress but most importantly showed me what teamwork, passion, handwork, commitment and a sport community should be like with the continuous love and support of my peers.

As an athlete, I’ve had the opportunity to work as a stunt actress for networks such as Marvel Entertainment, Nickelodeon, NBC Telemundo Studios, Disney, USA Network to name a few. Here is my IMDB profile: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5903584/
My goal as an athlete and person is to lead by example and inspire others through my hard work, whether it be in the parkour community or beyond. In the spring of 2018 I was by invited by WFPF to attend and speak at the their Parkour “Growth Summit” in New York City, held at the prestigious “Player’s Club”.

I’m very involved with my community and love to dress up as a super hero/princess and “surprise visit” children and the elderly. I regularly do this at hospitals such as Joe DiMaggio’s Children Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, as well as different elderly homes and facilities.

I’m excited to continue on this journey and cant wait to see the lives I will continue to change and inspire.
