When I was little I always loved to watch people doing flips! When I was 9 years old, I started to do Ninjustu and Karate with my brother and a friend. We used to practice for hours and that’s when I knew that I wanted to make flipping a career. I got so good, so quickly, that I challenged everyone around me.
Six years later, I was still working on my martial arts practise when I saw a Parkour video on YouTube called “A Brother’s Journey”. I was so amazed by Parkour and the video, that I just had to get out there and try it! I watched the video, kept going out and trying the moves, and I fell in love with it. I began to discover what Parkour means to me: every obstacle and challenge can be overcome, not only physical obstacles in front of you while practising Parkour, but other obstacles in life as well.
Living in Flint, Michigan, this has become very useful for me as I always keep a positive attitude, do the right thing, and keep moving forward. Parkour has taught me that, no matter what, I can always fight my fears and live how I want, and achieve my dreams. Ideas are nothing if you don’t believe in yourself!
I achieved one of my goals when I was able to attend and qualify for the WFPF Parkour Pro-Am Championship at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas in 2016! I finished in the top 20. I know that the future is bright as I am the #CreatorOfMyOwnWorld!
