Sorry for the delay, but we have been extremely busy outside since the weather has been so nice. We haven't got too much to update you on and we don't have a lot of exciting news to share. All we can say is that being able to get outside everyday is really helping us advance our skill set and become more fluid with our movement. We have been working a lot on flow these past couple weeks and it is really paying off.

We are also venturing off campus more and exploring new areas because although it has some real good spots, we are almost always in the same few spots. Wil said it best, "Campus is getting stale..." We will be exploring for awhile and hopefully we can find a couple new areas to train in this summer.

We'll hopefully have an update for you soon, but until then watch our videos again and give us some feedback. Thanks

Finals are right around the corner and for us that means that spring semester will be coming to a close. That also means that for all of us that aren't going home for the summer the sun never looked so good. Campus during the summer is a virtual ghost town. Campus during the summer is a Parkour playground, as long as we don't get tired of the same obstacles or driven out by all the new construction.

That's all we have for you right now, but we'll keep you updated if we get any news.

First off, sorry we haven't posted a blog in awhile. We have been extremely busy outside with the sun shining almost everyday and final exams fast approaching. As for an update, we have lots to talk about.

We finally made team shirts and the good news about that is now that we look like a team we may not catch as much flak from the college because we are usually deemed hooligans bound to break something. So, be on the lookout for the new team shirts in the next video.

Second bit of news spurs from a couple days of exploration around campus. We've found a couple real nice new spots to train that we haven't previously seen so that is turning out to be a real treat.

And some good news to go along with the aquisition of the team shirts we have been able to get Team Impulse PKFR and the WFPF out to the public more than we could before.

This is the official after break update. The past week was one rainy day after another, melting all the snow and turning everything into mud. Finally, it warmed up and the clouds cleared out; the spring season is in full effect. We are one day back into classes and it's a warm sunny day meaning this week we're venturing onto campus for the first time this year!

The forcast for this season: bigger, better, and wilder than ever before! What does that mean? All we can say; wait for the videos, because not even we know what obstacles lie ahead of us at this point. But that's half the fun of it. We'll keep you up to date with our movements and other running news as we go along. Right now though, we're minutes from campus and itching to do what we do best.

What's the concensus on the new video? We hope you enjoyed it! This week started on a great note with a snow-melting, sunny day on Sunday. There's still a couple feet on the ground, but this week is supposed to be in the high 30s. Soon enough all the snow will be disappearing and we'll be back outside, hopefully before April.

As for news from last night, we did some huge kong to cats and a lot of tricking stuff. Wil did a double back on the trampoline for the first time last night and the whip double back on the tumble track, then confessed how easy it was. He wants to try the roundoff double back on the floor now, but we'll have to wait and see what next week brings.

Team Impulse has a New Video!!

Big news this week; Wil put together a new video for your enjoyment, we've got training at Triad tonight, the Challenge at Triad on Sunday, and possibly two more gym days to replace Success.

Wil has out done himself yet again with the new video and putting it all together. The new winter training video combines all the gym days since the last video came out. We've got some real great footage of our indoor training, but sadly no chance to venture outdoors yet. The weather should start warming up and that will hopefully get the ice and snow off our outdoor jungle gym aka campus to those who haven't found parkour yet.

Another Friday night at Triad! Last week we worked on a lot of new stuff, including: double fronts/backs, monkey gainers, dash bombs, and a bunch of different combo tricks. Tonight will be some of the same, but we need to work out a couple good obstacle course setups. We talked a little this week and should have a couple good runs for those who can make it to the challenge Sunday night at Triad.

To retell what we told you last week, Triad Gymnastics, in Ankeny, is having a Parkour Challenge session Sunday the 21st. It will include a backflip seminar, parkour showcase, and a large obstacle course! If you live in the area we'd love to see you come out and meet the group. It will start at 4:00pm and go to at least 6:00pm. Hope to see you there, if you need their website it's    http://www.triadgymnastics.com/

Lastly, we may be locked in for a couple extra gym days each week! The ISU Cheerleading gym might let us get some floor time in on Wednesdays and Sundays. Like we said last week; nothing good lasts forever, but for every door that closes another one swings opens...

Another week comes to pass with little information to present. Sadly we still can't get outside, but thanks to Triad we are getting some real good training time in! Fridays are starting to get pretty intense with new tricks. We've really started to ramp up training this year, perfecting the stuff now so when it finally warms up we can really rip up campus.

Nothing good lasts forever, Success has dropped us from their schedule because we don't bring in enough money. We'll be better off though, now we can focus on working with Triad and their new set of parkour seminars and classes.

The first of which starts the 21st, The Ultimate Challenge. We'll have a back flip seminar, parkour show and learn session, and a large obstacle course. We'll be there from 4:00 to 6:00 at least if anyone from the area reads this, and doesn't already know. We'd love to see you there if you get a chance.

That said, today is Friday and we've got a couple hours to waste before we head to Triad. Maybe we'll try out a couple different setups for the obstacle course tonight, we'll see, but you won't unless you show up the 21st or wait for a video...

Today starts on a sad note, Triad is closed for a gymnastics meet tonight leaving us out in the cold so to speak. But we expected that, we aren't the ones they've been training for years to get to this point... Don't worry though, we'll be back tearing it up next weekend. As for Sunday at Success, we can't wait to get in there and polish the new stuff we worked on last time.

Last weekend was extremely successful. We all busted out a lot of new stuff. As one example, Wil perfected the back double-full, on camera (which will deffinately make the next video that airs). We've collected a huge amount of footage since the last video; however, the weather being as it is we have nothing new outside to showcase. Making it even sadder to say we probably won't have a new video for awhile. Sorry, but as soon as weather allows we'll be outside with everything we've worked on so far this winter.

Well, we hope everyone had a great holiday season. There isn't a lot of new Free Running news from the Midwest since we are currently blanketed under 20-30inches (50-90cm) of snow and an average temperature below 32F (0C). It's those two stats that have brought most outside activities to a grinding halt. Especially since there is so much campus snow removal is basically nonexistent. Ice and snow make running real safe! That was sarcasm if you didn't pick that up.

Also, most are still getting settled into the new semester making this a kinda slow week thus far. Friday night at Triad went really well. We worked on a bunch of new stuff and messed around with some crazy stuff. For example, Wil spent some time doing double backs into the pit (we couldn't get him to try it on the floor, probably smart, so far) and Patrick spent some time on the trapoline playing with the double front. We'll see what Sunday at Success brings for us, but if last night was any indication we're going to make some huge gains this semester.

Before I forget, we do have a little news to share, Triad asked us if we were interested in teaching an ongoing series of Parkour classes/seminars on a somewhat consistant basis. We of course happily accepted and are eagerly awaiting the startup. When we talked last night they said they've had about 30-40 people that have showed a serious interest toward the class, which makes it even more exciting.

Team Impulse is one week from completing our fifth semester here at Iowa State University. We'll be back at it come January, but until then we're on our own to train over break. Downside to heading back to our hometowns, most live in the Midwest which is currently covered in snow and ice.

On a brighter note, we've been asked to train with a second facility, so be on the lookout for some new footage in January or February. This new gym, Triad Gymnastics, is extremely large, very well equipped, and is run by a pair of real cool guys. We scoped it out Friday and were asked if we'd help start and teach a Parkour and Free Running class for the Iowa community. Naturally, they won't have to ask twice to spread this amazingly rewarding sport to the youths of this area!

That's about all we've got for news this week... But before we head to the gym again tonight, we'd like to take this chance to thank all of you here at the WFPF for allowing us this opportunity to spread the lifestyle of freedom to all ends of this Earth.
